Don’t Let Your Dating Life Get Hit By Summer Burnout
Summertime is a wonderful time of year for many things – especially vacation. While disconnecting from work for a few weeks is a great idea for improved productivity, and your mental health, it can be a horrible idea for your dating life. So, before you sit back and start sipping an icy Aperol Spritzer on a sunny terrace, take a minute to let the special someone you just started dating know that they are still very much on your mind.
Your Plan of Attack
What's the best way to do this? Unless you have been dating for a while, and feel comfortable with the ins and outs of your partner's schedule, most people appreciate receiving a less intrusive text message. So what should you text? If you would like your message to have maximum impact, then send something original and personalized, and forgo "Hi, how are you doing?"
3 Fabulous Reminders
Example 1: "Hi Alison, Greetings from Verbier. Enjoying a glass of Petite Arvine. Isn't that your favorite?"
Prove to them that you are a good listener by referencing something they shared during one of your dates. End your text with a question and you are almost sure to have a rapid response.
Example 2: "Hi Frank, Are you staying cool...and out of trouble :)"
Depending on their personality (some people are easily offended), tease them with something cute and flirty. Just make sure not to come across as jealous or needy (major passion killers).
Example 3: "Was just thinking about you and your contagious laugh. Hope you're well!"
Site something specific that you appreciate about your partner. It could be related to a physical trait, such as their beautiful smile, or their personality, such as their quick wit.
Summertime goes by fast, so you need to enjoy it! Just make sure that you don't put your budding new relationship on the backburner. Send your partner a little personalized hello from time to time....every one loves to feel remembered. These short, sweet reminders will ensure that you stay on their mind, and your dating life will pick up where you left off, as soon as you return from your summer break!
